Admissions Requirements
Graduate candidates are accepted on a rolling basis with new terms starting in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Rivier offers a streamlined admissions process: standardized test scores are not required, and there is no application fee.
Official transcripts: Provide official transcripts from each institution where you received undergraduate or graduate course credit. A transcript must show the date of degree conferral of your undergraduate degree.
A transcript is considered 鈥渙fficial鈥 if it is sent directly to Rivier from the institution where the credits were earned. Official transcripts can be sent electronically using transcript sending services or by mail.
Transcripts from schools, colleges, and universities outside of the United States must be evaluated by an agency approved by the or the . offers a 小猪视频 discount. Full course-by-course evaluations are required.
Nursing鈥擜dditional Requirements
Statement of Purpose:聽Required for the MSN Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner; MSN Family Nurse Practitioner; MSN Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; and post-Master鈥檚 certificates in Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Statement of purpose should be no more than one typed page in length and should share how this graduate track will help support you in meeting your professional goals.
Resume or curriculum vitae showing two years (full-time or equivalent) of RN experience
Verification of active, unencumbered RN license(s)
The official transcript must show evidence of successful completion of an undergraduate statistics course
RN-MS applicants who are seeking to enter the program as experienced registered nurses with associate degree preparation must submit a professional portfolio documenting mastery of Bachelor of Science competencies. Contact the Admissions Office (admissions@rivier.edu) for additional information regarding the professional portfolio requirement.
Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner MSN and Post-Master鈥檚 Certificate applicants must show proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Licensure
Rivier鈥檚 M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is fully approved for licensure in school counseling by the New Hampshire Department of Education. This qualifies graduates to be licensed only in the State of New Hampshire.
Applicants seeking licensure or certification outside of New Hampshire must review the regulations for licensure and/or certification in those states to ensure acceptance and also confirm any additional licensing or certification requirements.
M.Ed. in School Counseling Licensure
Rivier鈥檚 M.Ed. in School Counseling program is fully approved for licensure in school counseling by the New Hampshire Department of Education. This qualifies graduates to be licensed only in the State of New Hampshire.
