Alumni on the Front Lines | Molly Williams

Alumna Molly Williams is honored to be part of the team working on the front lines at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical.

Her job today is unrecognizable from what it was just three months ago, but her role as a nurse hasn鈥檛 changed, Molly Williams 鈥19 shared. Molly completed her Associate of Science in Nursing at Rivier and now works on a medical specialty unit at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). Her unit is the designated COVID-19 unit for patients not requiring ICU care. 鈥淓very shift is different due to new information and policy changes as we constantly adapt to new challenges,鈥 she told us. 鈥淧atients are unstable, scared, and alone.鈥

Molly acknowledges that every success is a team effort. 鈥淭o think about the number of people involved in one person鈥檚 admission and recovery is staggering and humbling. It is an honor to be a part of my team, and the聽camaraderie聽within DHMC has made this time bearable. Working during this pandemic is taxing, and certainly it was not part of my first year nursing plan. But this is what it means to be a nurse. We are resolute in the face of uncertainty and suffering. Professor Hagan always told us that we never know where we will end up. As usual, she was right!鈥 We are so proud of you Molly! Keep up the good work and thank you for your service!
