Reservation\/room use privileges may be modified at the discretion of library staff. Please refrain from conversation or other sounds while in the Quiet Study.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"font-size: inherit\">Areas that <\/span>do not\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: inherit\">require a reservation<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Study Rooms A, D, and E, open study areas, sitting areas.<\/li>\n<li>Reference Room, Quiet Study and Reading Room tables and sitting areas.<\/li>\n<li>Study carrels in the book stacks.<\/li>\n<li>The Conference\/Doctoral Study Room is for use by library staff and doctoral students.\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN\">Students (doctoral or others) may not reserve this room in advance. Study rooms are available for advance reservation by individual students (Rooms B &amp; F) or groups of two or more (Rooms B, C &amp; F).<\/span><span lang=\"EN\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li>On occasion, and with the library director&#8217;s permission, the room may be used by faculty.<\/li>\n<li>More than one doctoral student or group of doctoral students is allowed to use the room at the same time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 align=\"left\">Content Creation Center<\/h3>\n<p><span>The Content Creation Center provides a small but powerful multimedia recording \u201cstudio\u201d that allows users to create a variety of content. Using state-of-the-art recording equipment, green screens, and editing software, faculty and students can create a wide range of multimedia content for lessons, assignments and\/or projects. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Reservations, which can be<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rivier.libcal.com\/spaces?lid=16794\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">booked online here<\/a><span>, are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>only<\/strong><\/span> allowed for specific use of the Content Creation Center.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>This space may be reserved for<strong> up to two hours.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The space is available 30 minutes <strong>after we open<\/strong> until 30 minutes <strong>before we close<\/strong>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>When not reserved for &#8220;content creation,&#8221; this space is available as an <b>open study<\/b> on a first-come, first-served basis. This space cannot be reserved as a general study room.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Electronic Classroom<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>23 computers are available in the Electronic Classroom (e-room).<\/li>\n<li>Library staff may, at any time, request that the room be vacated for instructional use as needed by faculty or library staff. Library staff has priority use of the e-room.<\/li>\n<li>Library staff and faculty may reserve the e-room for instructional purposes.\u00a0Faculty may schedule the e-room in advance by contacting library staff; however,<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>the e-room may not be used in place of the classroom assigned by the registrar.\u00a0<\/em>The e-room is reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.<\/li>\n<li>The e-room is equipped with an instructor\u2019s station including a computer. Instructors are encouraged to verify in advance that any software and\/or additional media equipment that they may need is available for their scheduled session.<\/li>\n<li>Students may not reserve the e-room. Students are welcome to use computers or the whiteboard in the e-room when it is not reserved. The instructor\u2019s station is not available to students.<\/li>\n<li>When using the e-room for a reserved session, all participants need to log on using their own Rivier\u00a0account.<\/li>\n<li>A daily schedule of room reservation times is normally posted on the e-room door.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #574e4e;font-size: 1.5625rem;font-weight: 600\">Quiet and Conversation Areas<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Communications that are loud or raucous, or may be construed as offensive or obscene are not acceptable in the library.<\/p>\n<h4 align=\"left\">Electronic Classroom<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Moderate levels of conversation are acceptable in this room. This is not a quiet area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Study Rooms<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Moderate levels of conversation are acceptable in study rooms. Multiple study groups may converse in this room at one time.<\/li>\n<li>Moderate sound from television viewing is acceptable. Headphones are encouraged and available for check out at the circulation desk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 align=\"left\">Quiet Study<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Please refrain from any conversation or other sounds in the Quiet Study.<\/li>\n<li>Music devices should not be used without earphones and the volume should be set so as not to be heard by others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 align=\"left\">Reference\u00a0Room<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Normal\u00a0levels of conversation are acceptable in this room.<\/li>\n<li>Multiple study groups may converse in this room at one time.<\/li>\n<li>Library staff may converse as they provide assistance to users or speak with other staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Reading Room<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Quieter\/whisper levels of conversation are acceptable in this room.<\/li>\n<li>Multiple study groups may converse in this room at one time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Conference Room<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Moderate levels of conversation are acceptable in this room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Food and Drink Covered drinks and food\u00a0are permitted in the library.
